Understanding the gravity of the situations, SSM has organized flood relief initiatives with an aim to do their bit for the victims of Kerala deluge. School and college students pooling together their pocket money joined this drive and contributed generously. As a part of this initiative, students of Sevashram Hostel took out a rally in Sagroli to collect relief fund for Keralites. Students were seen urging people on public address system to open their heart and contribute generously. Resulting their efforts fruitful, an amount of Rupees 6538 raised within three hours. The said amount would be donated in the Chief Minister Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF).
Many Sagrolites were surprised and pleased to find their localities were cleaned and the air did not have the usual stench. Some thanked God where as some tried to find ‘Who are the noble souls behind this unselfish deed?’ Around 100 NCC cadets and their NCC officer Shri Aakash Shinde of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Highschool were found cleaning roads and different localities on 18 September at around 8 o’clock in the morning under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. It took them around two and half hour to clean the entire village. They also enacted a street-play that messaged about diseases caused due to unhygienic conditions, importance of cleanliness, how to segregate wet waste and dry waste, how to decompose wet waste and make manure out of it.
