Sagroli Sunrisers make place in Thane Varsha Marathon



 The twenty nineth Thane Varsha Marathon that was held on 2nd September proved metal of Sagroli Sunrisers once again. They participated in both men and women categories.  Athlete Arti Dudhe secured 7th Place in 15 KM long distance race out of 986 athletes in one hour, eight minutes and nine seconds.  Master Vishal Lavale stood at 6th position out of 1426 athletes in 10 KM race in forty minutes and fifty six seconds.  SSM Chairman Shri Pramodji  Deshmukh congratulated the winners for their sportive feats and wished them for the upcoming Marathons.

        Understanding the gravity of the situations, SSM has organized flood relief initiatives with an aim to do their bit for the victims of Kerala deluge.  School and college students pooling together their pocket money joined this drive and contributed generously.         As a part of this initiative, students of Sevashram Hostel took out a rally in Sagroli to collect relief fund for Keralites. Students were seen urging people on public address system to open their heart and contribute generously.   Resulting their efforts fruitful, an amount of Rupees 6538 raised within three hours.   The said amount would be donated in the Chief Minister Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF).

Under 19 football players off to Nepal :

        Youth Association registered under Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India has organized football matches( Under 19) in Nepal.  The matches will be played among eight countries including India in December.  Master Satish Tawate and Master Nitin Mudlod of Shivaji High School, Sagroli are selected to play in Team India under 19 age group.  Their success is widely appreciated.  SSM Project Director Shri Rohitji Deshmukh wished them a great success in upcoming matches.

A remarkable success within a short span of time:

        Swimming pool at Sagroli that was constructed and installed last year turned its first page marking a notable success.  Eight swimmers of Sainiki Vidyalaya swam to their best in all categories like free style, back stroke, butterfly, water polo, relay etc and have been qualified for State Level Big Meet that would be held between 1 October to 5 October at Nagpur.         It all began under the able guidance of a retired naval officer of Indian Navy Shri RP Mahato who was seen frequently busy sharpening their skills.   Knowing that a happy swimmer is a fast swimmer, their coach Shri Linguram Kumbhare besides coaching kept a light environment as it can help reduce stress level.   Weeks and months of swimming ability and planning with intent led them to a successful swim meet.   At this success Shri RP Mahato said, “Such participations prepare one to face life’s challenges without giving up.
